The administrative set-up is based on a single line administration, which aims at keeping closest co-operation amongst various developmental departments with the administration to keep step together for speedy development of the people and the area. The district is placed directly under the charge of the Deputy Commissioner. The lowest unit of administration is a Circle which is looked after by a Circle Officer or an Extra Assistant Commissioner .A circle is defined as a group of villages and not as a territorial unit. There are 6(six) administrative circles in the Lower Subansiri districts namely; Ziro(Sadar), Yachuli, Pistana, Raga, Kamporijo and Dollungmukh.
The Assam Frontier (Administration of Justice) Regulations, 1945, authorizes the village councils to settle all civil matters and certain criminal matters falling within their jurisdictions. However, for all matters, the Deputy Commissioner exercises full powers as a session judge and some other administrative Officers are also invested with the Magisterial powers. The Assam High Court, who holds the appellate and the Revision Authority has the jurisdiction over all the district courts of Arunachal Pradesh. The district has been covered by 3(three) blocks , namely: Ziro-I, Ziro-II and Tamen-Raga. The Community Information Centre(CICs) exist in all the three HQ of CD Blocks. These CICs, funded by Govt Of India, Ministry of Comm & IT, provides latest IT infrastructure for the benefits of local populace. |
